Is a Blogger Considered a Freelancer?

Shannon was wondering whether one can still generate a reliable income freelancing. While many may disagree, I see consider most modern bloggers to be freelancers, and since many bloggers are making money from their blogs then freelancing is still profitable. However, is a blogger considered a freelancer? How about we draw a conclusion from this comparison.

What are the features of a freelancer?

  • Self employed
  • Can make money online
  • Writes, designs, or codes for money
  • Works on his own or with a team
  • Could own a blog

What are the features of a blogger?

  • Self employed
  • Can make money online
  • Can write, design, or code for money
  • Can blog alone or with a team of contributors
  • Owns a blog

So what conclusion can we draw?

  • Not every blogger is a freelancer and vice-versa.
  • A blogger making money online is a freelancer, a freelancer that owns a blog is a blogger.

Make Money Online with John Chow dot Com

You’ve read the blog and you’ve been probably wondering about that free e-book that comes with the newsletter subscription. To be frank, one is usually hesitant because of the low-quality e-books offered with newsletters, but this e-book has surprised me in three different aspects: its vivacity, value, and humor.

The e-book’s take on the different approaches in monetizing your blog is refreshing and lively because of Chow’s conversational language. The e-book, with its clickable table of contents, can be easily read and navigated through in less than a couple of hours. I, myself, have read the whole thing over a hot cup of coffee during my lunch break.  From the basic blogging tips to the most advanced ways in monetizing, you’ll find yourself keeping up without getting lost in unnecessary jargon or details.

Another aspect that I especially admired was the usefulness of the content. Most of the links are truly valuable, and in some cases you’ll end up getting discounts. While many e-books link to websites claiming they’re free only to find it’s a paid service, Chow has obviously validated his links for authenticity.

The last aspect that I loved about Make Money With John Chow dot Com is the humor. In the final chapter, Chow tells the story of the internet boom during the late 90’s and its crash in 2001. His genuinely humorous narrative of his experience with TechZone is truly inspirational and sums up the experiences of many blog entrepreneurs who lived through the two booms.

I loved this e-book and would recommend it to anyone interested in starting and monetizing their blog. This free e-book comes with a guarantee that no one could resist: 1 million times your money back, but wait, you’re not paying anything. This is when you wish the e-book was not for free after all.

To receive this e-book, you can subscribe to John Chow’s newsletter for a free copy.
